Hels Sunday Stamper challenge number 198 is Blackbird this week and the Simon Says Stamp and show challenge is show a Tag so here is my Blackbird tag.
I took a white tag and stamped script writting in walnut stain as the background before inking with gathered twig, I stamped a scroll in black soot using a stamp from my Inkadinkado set.
The bird was stamped from my paperartsy hot picks set HP1007 in black soot on white card, I then inked it again with the black soot and a little gathered twig.
The Let your sprits fly words was from the Creative Expressions Wings stamp set, this again was made using walnut stain and gathered twig distress ink.
The faux enamel flowers were made by using the two smallest tattered floral flowers that were cut from textured buff coloured card before being stamped with the script writing and a little gathered twig again, before being shaped and dipped in UTEE and finished of with little yellow buttons.
To finish it all a Tim ideaology ticket was inked in the gathered twig and an extra button put on for good measure.

Tag # 34 Tools
For the Stamp Man Challenge this fortnight the challenge is to follow a recipe / 3 in a row selection. I elected to use - Polka Dots, Numbers and Ribbon to make this special tag for a special birthday boy who enjoys working with his dad. I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp and show your handmade background.which is about to finish tonight better late than never huh!
I took a white tag and stamped polka dots in chipped sapphire distress ink and then inked the whole tag in faded jeans and a touch of walnut stain.
Numbers were stamped in white paint all over the tag and I also edged the tag in the paint before edging it with chipped sapphire as well.
On white card I used the creative expression stamps - Its A guy thing in walnut stain before painting them with fired brick and weathered wood. I cut slits in the tool box to slip the tools into so it looks like they are coming out of the box. The tools were also covered in paperartsy Fresco satin finish paint .
I cut the letters and large number out using my Cricut and again painted them in the fired brick before covering them in glossy accents.
The happy birthday mount was embossed using a cuttelbug embossing folder before inking with faded jeans and swiping the top with the chipped spapphire.
A metal pair of plyers and saw were threaded with ink string before being attached with a couple of brads and ribbon, strin and a piece of chain were threaded through the top.
Happy Birthday Adam xx.

Hi - Exciting news all I have been invited to join the Crafty Boots Design team it was really very unexpected and so exciting to know that other people like what I do.

Tag #33 Rose Just For You
Hels Sunday Stamper - Week 197 Challenge is paper Roses and it gave me a good excuse to get my melt pot out and have a go with UTEE without burning my fingers.
The tag was inked with wild honey distress stain and a grid was stamped in rusty hinge and then inked a bit more in rusty hinge and aged mahogany. I also added some white paint strips and edges. The tag was swiped in clear embossing ink and roughly embossed with clear embossing powder before aged mahogany was rubbed into the dips.
The plaque with the words was inked in the same colours used for the tag and stamped with words from PaperArtsy Hotpicks set HPXT04.
The rose was made as per Hels rose but I used spiced marmalade and rusty hinge and stamped the words "just for you" on all three cut outs before curling and sticking the relevant individual pieces . The leaves were coloured with crushed olice and shabby shutters and stamped with the same words before shaping.
Once all the elements were made I dug out my melt pot and heated up the clear UTEE and carefully dipped and put the relevant layers together.
This one was fun to make and I am glad my rose turned out ok I was worried it would spoil when I started dipping it.

Tag#32 - Grungy Monday 39
This weeks Grungy Monday challenge was to use one of Tims 12 Tags of Christmas from 2009 day 3 see the details here. Which involves using alcohol inks and to me this means lots of inky fingers!
To make my background I used the following alcohol inks Butterscotch, Red pepper,Cranberry and Wild Plum. In theory it should look more of a plaid affect but hey I like it.
I then decided that due to the lovely splash of the butterscotch it needed to be turned into a sunset scene some how.
The flowers along the bottom come from the lovely Indigo blue set Poppy Meadow and then I added some extra butterflies and also stamped the sunset in the left hand corner all in archival ink.
The tag its self was cut from black colour core card and embossed using the Tim Holtz alteration Texture Fades - Rays. I sanded the edge of the card and the raised section, they were then inked in spiced marmaalde as I decided it need a splash of orange.
The plaque was inked and then covered in glossy accents, the words were pre printed on vellum and blended in just right with an extra splash introduced by using coloured brads.
Some fibres were wrapped around the bottom and coordinating ones tied through the top.

Mothers Day Tea Pot
The Crafty Boots challenge this fortnight has been Glitter and I have been trying to work out how I could incorporate it into one of the 2 Mothers day cards I have to make, and this is what I came up with especially for my mother in law who is in a home and needs bright things to cheer up her room as she is bed bound but likes to look at lots of things and always likes a good cup of tea.

Well as you can see I have failed miserably to get a landscape picture to fit correctly into blogger (it keeps switching round so you will need to crick your neck a little)
To make the card I used a teapot template and cut it out in white card before embossing it with my new papermania union Jack folder, I inked as in my previous vintage 1953 tag blog.
I stamped Happy Mothers Day on a plain piece of card in fired brick before inking with faded jeans and walnut stain distress ink.
I used 2 layers of the hearts with wings die the main one was covered in PVA glue before being liberally covered in large flaked red glitter, the foreground heart was covered in silver as was the edge of teapot lid once I had made a line of glossy accents round the edge.
On the handle I tied some cream lace slightly inked with the fired brick and attached a brass kettle . The background navy blue card was stamped with flourished from my paperartsy hot Picks stamps in white paint and the edges of the card were also edged in the paint.
Happy Mothers day to all mums ,Aunts and god mothers out there enjoy your special day.xxx

Tag #31 - Misty Travels
Hi The Sunday Stamper Challenge Week 196 is Misty, so I decided to try and see what I could come up with.
I took a plain white tag and stamped the world map from my Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous - Air travel set in Walnut Stain before inking it with more walnut stain and gathered twig distress ink.
The first layer of misting was a mixture of vintage photo reinker and gold perfect pearls, the next layer I masked the tag with a creative expression compass before spritzing with cosmic shimmer peacock green mist. once dry I removed the mask and misted again this time but with a mix of spun sugar re inker and purple perfect pearls.
So that was the tag done what next ? well I stamped the airplane from the same stamp set in faded jeans before inking with walnut stain and misting with the vintage photo mixture. The ticket was stamped in gathered twig onto blue colour core card and misted in the vintage mix again before tearing it in half and misting with the spun sugar mix.
The words Good times from my Paper artsy Hot Picks set were stamped and inked with spun sugar and walnut stain and the pink mist.
The tag was all finished with some inked lace and some buttons from my stash. Well there was definiely a lot of misting in there and lots of shimmer.

Tag #30 - Vintage 1953
Well it is jubilee year so I thought I should try getting into the spirit of things, so after a trip out with my mum a die hard royalist it was time to put my newly purchased Union Jack embossing folder from Papermania to the test.
The embossing folder has three layers so start with I inked the main cross directly into the folder with Fired brick distress stain.
Once embossed I then roughly inked the union Jack using cut n dry foam in faded jeans, fired brick and antique linen inks before edging with walnut stain and some gold paint.
The buntin was cut from spare card and inked in the same colours before being glued to some inked died string.
The wreath and crowns were cut using the Tim Holtz Regal Crest die before being painted in gold and inked slightly with some gems being stuck on.
The antique lady (she was 1 of a row of three thanks Bev) was stamped onto white card in walnut stain before being put into a metal tag frame that I coloured in alcohol inks - rust and pitch black. Once the lady was mounted I covered her in a layer of crackle glaze (I hate leaving these sort of things to dry no matter where I put it always gets knocked by me or a visitor to my room !).
I left all to settle overnight and then in the morning colored some ribbon to match and hey presto a Vintage tag.

A Special Bear
Heres something different to my normal creations but I thinks its always good to try something different now and then dont you ?
This Popcorn the bear Card is especially for a special little bear that is 2 on Sunday.
It was stamped in memento rich coca and embossed with clear powder before being inked with broken china distress stain and tumbled glass, shabby shutters and faded jeans distress inks for the background.
The picture was then painted using a variety of distress stains and a good old fashioned paint brush. Before mounting the picture it was edged in walnut stain and some white paint and the card itself was inked round the edges in walnut stain.
Happy Birthday little Bear xxx.

Tag #29 - Love Lace
I was playing in my craft room last week and ended up creating some tags.
This first one was inked in faded jeans, tumbled glass and stormy sky distress inks, then stamped with spots in fired brick and broken china distress stain (it was easier than using ink pads to get multiple colours on one stamp).
The edge of the tag was roughed up using the edge of my scissors before being inked with gathered twigs. Swirls were stamped in two corners in white acrylic paint.
A card and curtain lining dressform and cotton reel were cut from the Tim holtz sewing room die before the respective pieces were stuck together. When dry the dress was inked using broken china and fired brick door stains and inked again with the gathered twigs, red buttons were stuck on and a lace ribbon tied round the waist.
The cotton reel was inked and wrapped with some embroider silk before being stuck on. Not decided who this is for yet but Mothers day is fast approaching !

Tag #28 Diamonds
Friends are like diamonds - priceless.
I used my creative expressions checkers mask and painted the diamonds (well squares at an angel) with white, pool and ice blue acrylic paint. When it was dry the tag was inked with broken china, tumbled glass and stormy sky and gathered twig distress inks,
The corner swirls were cut using a die and then stamped in gathered twig in script before being inked in the colours already used and edged with white paint. The white paint was also used on the main tag by using the edge of an old credit card..
The key hole and the plaque were also inked in the same colours. The plaque was stamped using words from a paperartsy hot picks set.
In the Tim holtz ideaology memo pin the word friendship and its dictionary description are attached. there are a few keys stamped and a small one stuck on.
Through the top there is some string coloured in the broken china and also some necklace chain.
